IRIS is the International Railway Industry Standard led by  UNIFE (European Rail Industry Association) and largely recognised by railway stakeholders such as system manufacturers and railway operators. Based on the internationally recognided ISO/TS 22163:2017 standard, which includes specific application requirements for rail organisations. As well as the ISO 9001 quality standard, IRIS is moving the milestone to become ISO technical standard.

The aim of IRIS is to improve the quality and reliability of rolling stock, signalling and infrastructure by improving the whole supply chain.
