Bureau Veritas Thailand recently organised the annual “Community Action & Together Against Plastic Pollution” charity event to raise awareness about protecting the seas in Thailand and educate the public on the harmful effects on plastic pollution.
The Kongkaram Community Mangrove Forest Conservation Center (Wat Bon), a learning and eco-tourism center founded with the ambition of restoring the coastal ecosystem, was our activity partner. With the event aimed at helping to achieve their mission, there was a focus on the preservation of marine life and habitats through various activities such as planting mangroves trees (like the Teruntum Merah tree), building habitats for the fish, and collecting waste which can tangle in the roots of the mangroves.
A special thanks to the Kongkaram Community Mangrove Forest Conservation Center (Wat Bon), for the cooperation! We sincerely hope that this initiative will contribute to the long-term reduction of plastic waste in the ocean, the restoration of aquatic habitats, and promote sustainable practices within the surrounding communities.
